Motivating myself and others to go further, faster

– Ambitions

What drives me to go further

My first triathlon was a half Ironman. Most people build up to that distance. I just signed up. The distance has never scared me. What drives me is the question of how fast I can go.

After completing Ironman 70.3 Rapperswil-Jona and Ironman Thun, I knew 2026 had to be different. Not longer but faster. So I set my sights on something that most athletes only dream about: a 2027 World Championships qualification slot.

I've called this journey Road to the Unknown; because the World Champs location hasn't even been announced yet. Two shots to make it happen: Gdynia, Poland in July and Cascais, Portugal in October. The destination is uncertain. The commitment is not.

– About me

How it started

Sport has always been the thread running through my life. It started with Irish dancing, evolved into horse riding, then football, and during university I added ice hockey to the mix. But it was through football that I discovered running and running changed everything.

When I laced up for my first run, a 10K felt impossible. Then it didn't. Then a marathon felt impossible. Then it didn't either. That pattern of turning "impossible" into "done" became my obsession.

My grandfather and father were passionate cyclists. My grandfather passed that love on to me like a gift I didn't know I needed. When cycling met running, the answer was inevitable: triathlon. From that moment, I never looked back.

– About me

My mentality

In triathlon, nutrition is called the fourth discipline. For me, mentality is the fifth and it might be the most decisive of all.

Motivation gets you started. Discipline keeps you going. It’s the quiet, thankless commitment to doing the work whether I feel like it or not.

This mindset is what gets me to the pool before sunrise, onto the Kickr when motivation has long gone, and nobody is watching. That's where races are won. It's not about being fearless. It's about deciding that the goal matters more than the discomfort.

Results don't happen by accident. They are built in the moments that never make the feed. Unglamorous. Unseen. Unnoticed. Do it long enough, and the impossible becomes familiar.

Achievments

It started with a finish line that once felt impossible, the Zurich Marathon in 2023. One year later, Paris.

Later in 2024, I crossed into triathlon with the Ironman 70.3 Rapperswil-Jona, my very first triathlon. Endurance sport had become my world. Every race left me hungry for the next. That same year, during my Erasmus, I finally cracked the sub-4 marathon in Malaga.

Then came August 2025: Ironman Thun. Full distance. Dream completed.

In between the long stuff, I discovered the SuperHalfs series and was instantly intrigued by the challenge. Exploring new European cities whilst racing, what's not to love? Prague, Valencia and Lisbon are already done. Copenhagen awaits with a bold goal: sub 1h40.
